Ranking is a party game about how well you know your friends. These terms explain the rules for using the service and creating an account.
Using Ranking
Ranking is operated by Bruce Martens ("we", "us"), who you can contact at bmartens2112@gmail.com. These terms are between you and Bruce Martens. By selecting the agreement checkbox and creating an account, you agree to these terms. You must be legally able to enter this agreement or have permission from a parent or guardian where required by law. Joining a game or submitting statements does not require an account.
Your account
Use an email address you control. Keep access to your email and sign-in links secure, and do not share your account or sign-in links. You are responsible for how you use your account and for the games you host.
Keep play respectful
Use Ranking lawfully and treat other people with respect. Do not submit unlawful, threatening, discriminatory, harassing, or deliberately harmful content. Do not impersonate others, share someone’s private information without permission, infringe others’ rights, or use the service to send spam.
Do not try to access another person’s account or games without permission, interfere with the service, bypass its security, or overload it. Hosts should review submitted statements and remove anything unsuitable for their group. Make sure everyone is comfortable taking part.
Statements and game content
You retain any rights you have in content you submit. You give us permission to store, process, and display that content only as needed to operate Ranking and make it available within the relevant game. Only submit content you have the right to share.
Statements, names, rankings, and results may be visible to the host and other participants as part of gameplay. People with a game link or room code may be able to join or contribute when the game allows it. Share links carefully and avoid including sensitive information. Rankings reflect a group’s opinions during a game; they are not factual assessments of a person.
Privacy and data handling
Our Privacy notice explains what information we collect from hosts, players, and statement submitters, why we use it, who receives it, and your privacy rights. The data handling and retention section explains how long information remains and how to request its removal. Agreeing to these terms is not consent to marketing or unrelated uses of your personal data.
The service and its availability
You may use Ranking for its intended purpose. The service’s design, software, and branding remain the property of their respective owners. We aim to keep Ranking available, but interruptions, errors, maintenance, or loss of game data can occur. Do not rely on it as the only copy of information you need to keep.
We may change features or pause parts of the service for maintenance, security, or operational reasons. Where reasonably possible, we will give notice of changes that materially affect your use. These terms do not authorize charges; any future paid service would require separate, clear agreement.
Stopping use and restricting access
You can stop using Ranking at any time and delete games you own through My games. We may remove content or restrict access where reasonably necessary to address a breach of these terms, unlawful activity, or a security risk. Where practical and legally permitted, we will explain the reason and give you an opportunity to resolve the issue.
Responsibility and your rights
You are responsible for your conduct and the content you submit. We do not promise that the service will always be uninterrupted or error-free. Our responsibility for loss or damage is determined by applicable law. Nothing in these terms excludes or limits liability that cannot lawfully be excluded or limits your mandatory consumer rights.
Changes to these terms
We may propose updates to reflect changes in the service, security needs, or legal requirements. The version and effective date will appear on this page. Material changes will be brought to your attention, and we will request a new agreement where required. Changes do not remove rights you already have under applicable law.
